Privacy Policy
This policy covers lovegrover.com and the services at its subdomains (notes, todo, chat and the lg chat Android app). It's a small personal project run by Love Grover.
What is collected
- Chat & guestbook messages you post, including any name you choose to enter, are stored so they can be shown to others.
- Coarse location & device info (city/country, browser/OS) derived from your connection, and your IP address, are used for showing who's online, spam prevention, and moderation. IPs are never shown publicly (visitors appear as anonymous hashed handles).
- Analytics: pages visited, referrer, and time on page, to understand traffic.
- Sign-in (optional): if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your basic profile name/email from that provider to attribute your messages. We don't post anything on your behalf.
- Push token (app): if you enable notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored to deliver new-message notifications.
How it's used
Only to operate the site and app, showing messages, live presence, sending notifications, preventing abuse. Data is not sold and not used for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored with Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting); push uses Google Firebase. These providers process data on our behalf.
Todo (todo.lovegrover.com)
A todo list lives in a Supabase project you connect, or in a Todo folder this app creates in your Google Drive (one file, todo.json). You can be signed into both at once. Each project stays in the list it was created in; showing them together does not copy tasks. Google sign-in for Todo uses the same Drive permission as Notes and only the Todo folder. This site does not keep a copy of your tasks. The anon key of a Supabase project stays in your browser.
Notes (notes.lovegrover.com) and your Google data
When you choose Continue with Google on notes.lovegrover.com, the app asks Google for your basic profile (name and email) and for access to the files this app creates in your Google Drive (the drive.file permission). It cannot see any other file in your Drive.
- A Google notebook, including the PDFs you add, is saved as files in a Notes folder in your own Google Drive. Your browser reads and writes them directly with Google; this site does not keep copies of your notes. You can also connect your own Supabase project. That notebook stays there. The two are not copied into each other.
- To keep you signed in, Google's sign-in token is kept only in an encrypted cookie in your browser. Your browser also keeps a copy of your notes on your device so the app opens quickly.
- If you connect an AI agent (for example Claude, Codex or OpenCode) and click Allow, this site passes that agent's requests to your Drive on your behalf, without storing the content. Connected agents are listed in your Notes folder and you can disconnect them at any time.
- Your Google data is used only to provide the notes app to you. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared except as described here.
- You can sign out at any time, and remove the app's access in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps & services. Your notes stay in your Drive.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- You can chat anonymously, no account required.
- Notifications are opt-in and can be turned off in your device settings.
