Privacy Policy
This policy covers lovegrover.com, the lg chat Android app, and purchases of the Active Matter Lab simulation packs. It's a small personal project run by Love Grover.
What is collected
- Chat & guestbook messages you post, including any name you choose to enter, are stored so they can be shown to others.
- Coarse location & device info (city/country, browser/OS) derived from your connection, and your IP address, are used for showing who's online, spam prevention, and moderation. IPs are never shown publicly (visitors appear as anonymous hashed handles).
- Analytics: pages visited, referrer, and time on page, to understand traffic.
- Sign-in (optional): if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your basic profile name/email from that provider to attribute your messages. We don't post anything on your behalf.
- Push token (app): if you enable notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored to deliver new-message notifications.
- Purchases: if you buy a simulation pack, the payment processor collects your email, billing country and payment details in order to take the payment and work out sales tax. Card numbers never reach this site — I only ever see your email, your country and what you bought.
How it's used
Only to operate the site and app, showing messages, live presence, sending notifications, preventing abuse. Data is not sold and not used for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored with Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting); push uses Google Firebase. These providers process data on our behalf.
Payments
Purchases are handled by a third-party payment processor acting as merchant of record. They are the data controller for your payment details and hold them under their own privacy policy; I receive only your email address, billing country and order details, and I use them to deliver what you bought, honour the refund policy, and answer your emails. Records of a sale are kept as long as tax rules require.
Your choices
- You can chat anonymously, no account required.
- Notifications are opt-in and can be turned off in your device settings.
